Screeming pink _______ , a turtle, and a squirrel for an UW bridal session?

The title will make more since in a little bit – keep reading :)
This was a monumental shoot for many reasons. I reached a new level shooting UW and there will be many to thank. For starters the Cowgill’s generosity for letting me use their pool was foundational. Second would be the efforts of my friend and floral designer Lauren Roebuck. Lauren prepared for us 6 perfect and vibrant bouquets. Third but not least would be my 2 clients: Anna and Morgan. What you do not see in the images is the temperature of the water! It was so cold that when we would routinely come up for air none of us could talk b/c our teeth were chattering so badly. Amazingly you can not see any goosebumps but trust me they were. In fact it was so cold . . . (I know… How cold was it?) that my assistant for the day Nicole (thank you Nicole) bailed on us after being in the water for only an hour.

As for the title, well we realized pretty quickly (during Morgan’s shoot) that undergarments in some cases do show through some dresses. In Morgan’s case screaming pink panties (so ladies if you shoot UW bridals, nude colors work best). As for the turtle and squirrel, they were not real, but they played a big part. They were removed from Mrs. Cowgill’s landscaping attire for purposes of weights :) They were well taken care of during the shoot.

Louisiana Bridal Portraits with wind!

As I was photographing Emily I realized I had so many more options for posing because the wind was really gusting. I have no idea how many bridal portraits I have taken but I can tell you that this is one of the few that I have photographed in windy conditions. I got to meet a lot of Emily’s family on this day and I think each one pitched in a hand or two at one point or another. If you are reading this I would really like your opinion. I have included 3 variations of the last image. Please comment on which look you like best.
Thanks,
Kevin
