The best single shot I’ve taken of a bride . . .

The single best shot I have taken of a bride occurred during this shoot. We had to reschedule Kera’s session 2 other times before I was able to finally photograph these. I remember it being a beautiful, windy day a little short on warmth. My buddy Jeff Scott was assisting me on this day. Kera came through brilliantly and gave me many opportunities to photograph a plethora of incredible moments.

Can you guess which one it is? Let me know your favorite.

grace garland - i like the 1st one the best but i also like the shadows and light in the 7th and 8th ones. the first one just makes her look fierce!

David - They’re all awesome, but I’d guess the first one – the angle and fisheye are amazing for the architecture, her pose is very flattering, and the light source on her is brilliant! What an awesome picture!

April - LOVE the first one!!!

Kyley - I must say, that is a really, really good shot. Very dramatic. Great work Kevin she looks beautiful!

Krista Guenin Photography - I’m going to guess the first one! It’s awesome!

February 23, 2008 - 11:38 am

Brittany - I like the 7th one. The light coming through her veil is awesome.

February 25, 2008 - 10:46 am

kheops - might be the third ?
wonderful blog btw :)

Kevin Barber - I’m also going to have to throw my vote toward the 7th. The balance between the backlight and the soft light on her face is perfect. I like the 3rd photo, but the light on her face is a bit too hard and cold for my taste.

James McD - Fantastic!! My two favorites are numbers 1 & 6.

KB - The shot was the first! I personally was blown away with her posture, expression, and the motion of the wind in her dress and hair. Then there was the perfect addition of light by my good friend Jeff Scott, without whom this shot and all of the others would not have been possible! I am so blessed to experience images like this. They just don’t happen everyday. Hats off to Kera! All the credit goes to her on this one for making it possible :)

March 4, 2008 - 5:15 pm

AE - I like the 5th one. It looks timeless and for some reason her look brings a touch of Priscilla Presley to mind.

Mark - I think the backlighting and sun flare in the third one is nice!!

An elegant wedding in Shreveport – Vasko Wedding #2

You may remember Carries bridals from last week, well here are the results from her fabulous wedding and reception.
I am used to photographing my client’s weddings solo, but for the past couple of years I have found some great help to assist shooting with me. In this case it would be Donald. Donald recently graduated with his degree in photography. Unlike most graduates fresh out of college, Donald already had tons of experience and training to photograph journalisticly. Not only is he able to shoot for the occasion as I prefer, but he also dresses sharply for the occasion.

Allison - Love the one of them under the chandelier…You still got it KB!

Katy Allred - I love the stair pictures, the laughing pictures, and the one of the girl holding the bouquet. And the one of the girl twirling. Did you make all those people laugh or were they just laughing? Everyone looked really happy. :) Awesome guys! I love looking at your pictures!

One of my favorite locations to ever photograph a bride

I love repeat clients! The Vasko’s first commissioned me to photograph their oldest daughter’s (Pam’s) wedding 2 1/2 years ago. It was such a joy to have the privileged to get to know each of them so well. They truly are a wonderful family to know and work for. This time it was Carrie’s turn to marry. The funny thing is that both Pam and Carrie are marrying Jeremys.
Carrie’s wedding took place in Shreveport this past weekend so be looking for her wedding images to be blogged next week.
Now that the wedding has taken place, I can finally blog the following from Carrie’s bridal session.

The location . . . none other than the Vasko abode and what an abode it is. It is an amazingly designed and decorated house both inside and out.
